About OCREC

The  OCR European Championships are the official championships for countries and National OCR Federations of Europe organized under OCR Europe, the European Obstacle Sports Federation (EOSF.)

Event History

The OCR European Championships (OCREC) have been held since 2016. Previous locations have bee in Holland, Denmark and Poland.

Awards

Individual medals are awarded in elite, age group, team and open categories (Gold, Silver and Bronze) in 100m, 400m, 3K and 15K events.


National team awards include women, men and combined (women plus men). Results are calculated as the lowest combined time for the fastest three competitors in each event distance from each country. The overall national team award is the lowest combined time for the fastest three women plus the fastest three men from each country in each event distance.

Competition Details

Race Categories

National teams include competitive categories for Elite and Age Group athletes. Age groups are in 5 year brackets from under 20 (U20) to 60+. Age is the age of the athlete on December 31st in the year of the race. 


No qualification is required for open ("journeyman") categories.

Qualification

Qualification for national teams for OCREC is specified by each national federation member of OCR Europe. National federations specify the qualification criteria, races and rankings (as applicable.)

Eligibility

A competitor must be in good standing with their national federation per section 2.5.1 of the World OCR Competition Rules.


The nationality of a competitor is guided by the Olympic Charter Rule 4. In addition to the Bye-Law to Rule 41, an Athlete must be:

 

1. a citizen of the country of the National Federation (“Country”) based on local law, or; 

2. have at least one parent, natural or adoptive, be a citizen of the Country, or; 

3. married to a citizen of the Country, or; 

4. a resident of the Country for 3 years, or; 

5. a permanent legal resident of the Country, or; 

6. a resident of the Country regardless of length of time if due to political, ethical or humanitarian reasons outside of their control of the athlete, provided they have not competed for another Country within 12 months of the competition.
